Flameworking or lampworking as it is also known, is an ages-old bead making technique practiced in many parts of the world. Each bead is individually handmade and decorated from canes of colored glass which are melted in the flame of a torch.
Glass beads have been used as both adornment & currency by many diverse cultures in North America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East & the Far East. Contemporary glass beadmaking is deeply rooted in these traditions, while technology and innovation have brought the art form to new levels.
